About Me
Nature. It provides the backdrop. The light. The inspiration.
As a photographer living and working in the Columbia Valley for the past seven years I have enjoyed huge good fortune in the breathtaking vistas and unique and remarkable landscapes. It serves perfectly, not only for images in and of themselves but as a stunning backdrop for weddings and portraits and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to work in such a setting. Another advantage to this area is its close proximity to Banff and Calgary where I frequently provide photographic services to Alberta clientele. I am very fortunate to enjoy the rural, rocky mountain lifestyle while maintaining a growing urban career.
Before returning to The Valley, my home, I spent six years living and working in the Washington, DC area in the United States. Such a burgeoning metropolitan area provided a wonderful training ground, both in teachers and mentors as well as the sheer volume of work available. Given the amount of time we still spend in this area, it is a unique marketplace, both in it’s tremendous history and the opportunities for unique backdrops and locations, that I still feel fortunate to be a part of!
As a wife and mother of three, my lifestyle here, nestled on Columbia Lake, is very condusive to the full creative process of photography. It serves also to benefit my professional life, providing a peaceful harbour from where I can “fill my cup”. Whether working alone or with clients I consider my style to be reflective of the environment in which I try to work: distinct, elegant and simple, capturing, as best I can, the unique nature of my subject while providing a lovely and pleasing record from which beautiful memories can be evoked for years to come.
